Some items that were not originally manufactured as collectables gain so much popularity with collectors that they are later marketed as collectables. Toys are a good example of this type of product. There are many different kinds of collectables when it comes to pewter items. Jewellery, pendants, charms, and household items like cutlery, plates and mugs to name a few. Decorative household items are also popular items to collect. These include picture frames, tableware and other accessories. Tableware is more commonly available and makes elegant gifts, especially in sets.

A fluid display can be created by combining round plates and square prints, with a similar theme, in a repeating pattern. Display small items on top of pictures and door frames. To keep an item from them toppling, add museum wax or putty on bottoms or backsides. To add visual interest, vary the heights in the way you group items. Mix large and small pieces, using small pedestals or stands to elevate objects. Another idea is to place a mirror on a flat surface then combine a candle garden with collectibles of a theme, such as a village or storybook characters. To achieve a very formal look, use symmetrical placement of accessories. For a more casual look asymmetrical groupings work well.
